Duntext (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides translation, proofreading, content creation and teaching services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data transparently and securely. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and what rights you have under UK GDPR.
1. Who we are
Duntext is the Data Controller for all personal information collected through this website. Our website is built using Wix and hosted through IONOS. These providers may process data on our behalf (see section 7).

2.1 Data you provide voluntarily When you submit a form, request a quote, upload a document, or book a service, we may collect:, name, email address, phone number (optional), postal address (if you request printed copies), service preferences (translation type, speed, language pair, etc.), notes you include in the enquiry, uploaded files (documents you provide for translation or proofreading). We request only the minimum information required to provide a service.
2.2 Automatically collected data (via Wix & IONOS) This includes: IP address, device type, browser type, pages visited, session duration, general location (country/city level, not exact address), cookies (see section 8). This is standard website analytics data.
2.3 Cookies Wix automatically installs essential cookies for website functionality. If you also use: Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Cookie banner, additional cookies may be placed (see section 8).
3. How we use your data
We use your personal information to: respond to enquiries and provide quotes, deliver translation, proofreading, content or teaching services, process payments and send invoices, maintain communication during the project, comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting), improve website performance and user experience. Files uploaded for translation/proofreading are used solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not: share them with third parties, use them for marketing, store them longer than necessary (see retention)

We process personal data under the following UK GDPR legal bases: contract — to provide quotes and deliver services, legitimate interest — to ensure the website works securely and efficiently, legal obligation — accounting/tax records, consent — for optional marketing emails (if you sign up)
5. How your data is stored
Your data may be stored in: Wix secure cloud servers (EU/US-based with appropriate safeguards), IONOS hosting servers, email correspondence, encrypted local storage (for project-related documents). All reasonable technical and organisational measures are taken to keep data secure. Uploaded files are never stored permanently and are deleted after project completion unless required for legal or operational reasons.
6. Sharing your data
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. However, your data may be processed by: Wix.com Ltd (Privacy: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy), IONOS SE, https://www.ionos.co.uk/help/legal/privacy-policy/ or Google Ireland Ltd https://policies.google.com/privacy .All such providers comply with UK GDPR or have appropriate safeguards.
We will never share your files or personal information with third parties unless legally required (e.g., court order).
7. Data retention

Quotes & general enquiries: up to 12 months

Paid project records (invoices, correspondence): 6 years (required by UK law)

Uploaded documents: deleted within 30 days after project completion unless retention is requested by the client (e.g., for multi-stage projects). You may request earlier deletion at any time.

For GCSE tutoring, personal data is collected only from parents/guardians, never from minors directly.
